Dating40Over is a place for grown-ups looking for real connections. These guidelines help keep it kind, honest and safe.

Be yourself

  • Use your real first name or a name you go by, and your real age.
  • Photos must be recent and of you alone — no group shots, children, celebrities or pictures taken from the internet.
  • One account per person. Don't pretend to be someone else.

Be respectful

  • No harassment, threats, insults or hate based on race, religion, disability, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or age.
  • No sexual or explicit messages or photos, and no unwanted advances. If someone isn't interested, accept it gracefully.
  • Don't share other people's private information or screenshots of their conversations.

Keep it honest

  • Never ask anyone for money, gifts, gift cards, crypto, bank details or investment.
  • No selling, advertising, recruiting or promoting other sites or services.
  • Don't pressure people to move to another app or share their phone number before they're ready.
  • Married or in a relationship? Dating40Over isn't for you.

Nothing illegal

No illegal activity of any kind, including offering or seeking sexual services.

If something feels wrong

Use Block to stop someone contacting you, and Report to tell our moderators. Reports are confidential — the other person isn't told who reported them. If you're in danger, call 999. Read our safety advice for more.

What happens if guidelines are broken

Depending on how serious it is, we may remove content, give a warning, suspend or permanently remove the account. A moderator always makes the decision. We may share information with the police where someone may be at risk.
